Edited Crooked

In order to show the progression of building character and personality I created a heavily concentrated area to represent finished areas of a person while the higher up it goes the more broken up and incomplete the person becomes. 

Crooked

Everyone takes in words that they hear through out the day regardless of who the words are directed to and it changes them. Words that stand out the most can be ugly words filled with hate but powerful pleasant words can leave just as strong of an impression. So in essence, a person is formed by the environment around them. Some people may become crooked or askew in the process of finding themselves. 

Watercolors

To me it looks like a wizard but I purposely made this open to interpretation. I want it to mean something different to each viewer.  I started by using water color paper then drew with my eyes closed. It came out with interesting results.  I darkened lines that spoke out to me, used a dark color selection and my wizard was born. It was a fun practice that I am applying to ore of my art. 

Burst Colored

To me bursting bubbles is not always a bad thing. Sometimes a bubble needs to be burst to reach a new level. My art showing a ballerina in a bubble expresses my opinion on bursting bubbles. She needs to reach to better although her bubble or current position may be comfortable, she should still strive to be better which requires bursting the bubble.

Oil Principles and Elements

The Principle is contrast and the element is space. I used a knifing technique to apply the oil to the watercolor paper than did a wash of watercolors. 

Abstract Principles and Elements

The principle is emphasis and the element is form. The ink clearly showing the emphasis made with bold strokes and splatter. The added quash helps to create the form as well as make a strong statement. I    put a great deal of emotion and movement into this piece to make it come alive. 

Imagination

When my grandmother first passed away I would bring my sketchbook to her grave and tell her all about the new art I was doing. Sometimes I imagine her standing up in heaven wearing her lace collar blouse with her thick hair curled with a message that was different every visit. It really helped me cop with her passing. 

Enlarged Principles and Elements

This principle is balance and the element is form. I often find that with form comes balance. They have a tendency to go hand in hand. To show the form I used balance of color variation from warm to cool and cool to warm. 

Acrylic Cropped Principles and Elements

The principle is contrast while the element is form. Every form has contrast. It can be light to dark or size. I used the fletcher color wheel to successfully create a strong contract between the colors as well as the forms. Once the contract was the way I wanted it then the forms came into view. 

Cropped and Colored Principles

This was originally two separate works of art that I had combined. The left was form and pattern while the right was form and unity. Pattern and unity are able to fit together quite efficiently. Pattern shows consistency and unity shows relativity. I used watercolors to create a continuous flow in unity and pattern but with more precision. 

identical

The greek gods believed that a person was composed of 2 heads, 4 legs, and 4 arms. They were then split and became soul mates, each person being half of the same person. Making them partially identical and opposite at the same time.
